Store Long Materials Without Front-Column Obstruction

Timber, pipe and sheet material can be awkward to store when front uprights block access. For long-product storage on the Central Coast, we supply cantilever racking through Shop Fittings Office Furniture Materials Handling, using open-front arms mounted to vertical columns to keep material accessible from the face of the rack.

The current New Cantilever Racking product is offered in several arm lengths, post heights and column-centre options, with capacity dependent on the selected configuration. For palletised inventory, our pallet racking is designed around a different storage method. We can help confirm the system that suits the intended load.

Configure the Rack Around Material Length and Load

Cantilever racking should be specified around the material being stored rather than selected by appearance alone. Arm length, post height, spacing and load capacity all affect how the system performs.

  • Arm length: Current options include 900mm, 1200mm & 1500mm arms for different material depths.
  • Post height: Available heights run from 2438mm to 6096mm in the current product listing.
  • Column centres: Current choices include 900mm, 1200mm, 1500mm, 1800mm & 2100mm spacing.
  • Load capacity: The current product lists capacity up to 1000kg UDL per arm; final selection must match the intended load and configuration.

FAQs

Cantilever racking stores long or irregular items on horizontal arms extending from upright columns. The open front makes it particularly useful for products that would be awkward to place between conventional front uprights.

Timber, pipe, metal sections, sheet material and other long products are common applications. The rack configuration must still be selected around the actual load dimensions and weight.

Cantilever racking uses projecting arms and an open storage face for long material. Pallet racking uses beams between upright frames to support palletised loads.

UDL means uniformly distributed load. It assumes the stated weight is spread appropriately across the supporting surface rather than concentrated at one point.

Column spacing affects how the stored material is supported along its length. The correct spacing depends on the stiffness, length and weight of the products being stored.
