Black mesh office chair beside a desk in a modern office

Choose Seating for the Work Being Done

One chair type will not suit every desk, bench or work area. At Shop Fittings Office Furniture Materials Handling, we supply office chairs on the Central Coast across mesh, operator, executive, task, drafting, stool and specialised formats for different working heights and patterns.

Chair choice should start with how long the seat will be used, the height of the work surface and the adjustments the user needs. A supportive chair also works best when the surrounding workstation is set up to suit the task. We can help you narrow down the available styles without overcomplicating the decision.

Seating Options for Different Work Areas

The existing range covers several chair types rather than one single seating style. That makes it easier to match the chair to the work surface and the way the space is used.

  • Task & operator chairs: Everyday desk seating with practical adjustment and mobility for active work areas.
  • Mesh & executive chairs: Options with different back profiles and finishes for longer desk work or management settings.
  • Drafting chairs & stools: Higher seating suited to raised benches, counters and drafting-height work surfaces.
  • Special-purpose seating: Lab chairs, lab stools and counter-height options for work areas that need a different seat format.
  • Task and Operator Chairs

AM100, EM300, Swift Task, Kal Task and Hartley Task are among the current desk-seating options.

  • Mesh Chairs

WM600 and Vienna Mesh Back Chair provide mesh-backed choices within the current range.

  • Executive Chairs

Current options include the CL3000 series, Arco, Orca and Accord chairs.

  • Drafting Chairs

Yoyo Drafting Stool and Anser Drafting Chair support higher work surfaces.

  • Lab and Counter Seating

Lab Chair, Lab Stool, DS Desk Stool and DS Counter Stool cover specialised seating needs.

FAQs

Useful adjustments may include seat height, back position, armrests and lumbar support, depending on the model. The goal is to position the user comfortably in relation to the desk and the work being performed.

A mesh office chair uses a breathable mesh material across part or all of the backrest. Different models vary in frame shape, adjustment and cushioning, so the overall chair should still be considered rather than the back material alone.

Drafting chairs suit work surfaces that are higher than a standard office desk, such as drafting tables, counters or raised benches. They generally provide a higher seating range and may include a foot ring.

Set the chair so the user can work at the desk without lifting the shoulders or reaching awkwardly. Feet should be supported, either on the floor or with a suitable footrest when required.

Both are compact seating options, but their intended height and use can differ. Check the seat-height range against the work surface before choosing a stool for a particular area.
